This is the kind of breakfast that brings you straight back to the Colombian countryside. Featuring Alimentos de Mi Tierra’s Mozzarella Arepas and Montañero Chorizo, this sandwich is fast, cheesy, hearty, and packed with Latin flavor. Ideal for a busy morning—or anytime you need comfort on a plate.

Directions:

  1. Cook the chorizos:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Montañero chorizos until browned and fully heated through (about 6–8 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  2. Prepare the arepas:
While the chorizo is cooking, heat the mozzarella arepas on a griddle or skillet for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and the cheese inside is melted.
  3. Make the hogao:
In a separate pan, sauté the onion, tomato, and garlic in olive oil until soft and jammy—about 7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fry the eggs:
In a small pan, fry the eggs to your preference (sunny-side up works beautifully). Lightly season with salt and pepper.
  5. Assemble the sandwich:
Slice open each mozzarella arepa like a sandwich. Layer in half a chorizo, a fried egg, a spoonful of hogao, and avocado slices if desired. Garnish with cilantro.
